Molly, Guest Blogger

We are back! Molly here, Bob has given me permission to post on BPB -- so nice of him! I thought Dylan's two-month birthday would be a good opportunity to give everybody an update. No pictures of adventures around Europe this time, we've been hanging at home for the last couple of months waiting out the cold snowy winter and spending time with our new little guy. He is growing fast (12 lbs now!) and we are enjoying lots of smiles from him lately. We have been on big outings to places like the grocery store (woo hoo!) and also our favorite place for coffee, Bakeshop Praha, where Dylan is a favorite of the staff and gets to practice his flirting skills. In other news, Bob has been loving his time as a student of landscape architecture at North Carolina State University's Prague Institute and we have enjoyed meeting some fine folks from North Carolina that are here for the semester.

For our next post we will have some adventures to tell you about: Dylan is a proud owner of a U.S. Passport (yep, they give them to babies too!) so we are heading to Berlin next weekend for his first big international trip! For now, some recent pics of Dylan...

Showing love for the Vandals

Such a big boy!

"Daddy won't shut his trap about the Mariners now that Spring Training has started. It's Felix this, Ichiro that, Cliff Lee...yada yada yada. Dad forgets all I care about is eating and sleeping, both of which I excel. Whatever, go M's!"

Dylan Patrick Schafer: the First Two Weeks

Hello from snowed-in Prague. After several months we're back with a new feature on BPB: little man Dylan. He joined us on December 26, 09 at 11:07 am.

Thanks to everyone for the warm wishes. Granny Nanny & Grandpa Reno: big thanks for making the trip and for your support during the first two weeks. Uncle PJ & Aunt B: also big thanks for making the trip to celebrate with us.

The first two weeks with Dylan have been a blur. Here's what we know about Baby D:

Likes:
Sleeping on Grandpa Reno's chest. The Rolling Stones. Czech beer. Staying up late. Baseball (the word anyway...a promising start). Spitting up on his clothes.

Dislikes:
Thai food. Getting up before noon. Justin Timberlake. Blue football turf.

Unsure About:
Getting into his stroller. Most of his wardrobe featuring blue, brown, or an ensemble of blue & brown. Radiohead. Granny Nanny's infatuation with changing his diaper.

Without further delay:

Stretching with Dad in the hospital.

Hangin with Granny Nanny.

Meeting Grandpa Reno on the day he was born.

With Uncle PJ & Aunt Bronwyn in our apartment.

On his first outing: we took him next door to the Intercontinental Hotel for afternoon coffee.

That about does it for this post. Duty calls: it's 10 PM, Dylan is crying, and Molly is tired. To end, here's a photo of the Tyn Church I took as I walked home from the hospital the morning Dylan was born. Cheers.
